Speaking for the South East

One of SEEC’s key objectives is to represent and promote the views and interests of local government in the South East. We are the only organisation that speaks on behalf of all tiers of local government, with members covering county, unitary and district councils.

2017

  • Shaping the new London Plan – SEEC writes to  London Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills, Jules Pipe to highlight South East views on potential policies for the new London Plan (August 2017)
  • Reducing homelessness –  Writing in LGC, SEEC Chairman Cllr Nicolas Heslop called for powers to target increases in LHA and to build more homes in order to reduce homelessness (July 2017)
  • Delivering homes – WSE leaders write to Housing Minister, Alok Sharma MP requesting a meeting to discuss tackling  unimplemented planning permissions in the South East (July 2017)
  • Developing transport infrastructure – WSE leaders write to Transport Secretary, Chris Grayling MP requesting a meeting to discuss South East transport infrastructure priorities (July 2017)

  • Unlock the housing blockers – SEEC make the case for new powers to help councils speed up the delivery of housing and supporting infrastructure. (Jan 2017)
