Paul has been a member of Kent County Council since 1997 and became leader in October 2005. Prior to assuming leadership, Paul held responsibility for the education portfolio, and he remains especially committed to transforming education, overseeing the introduction of a new 14-16 vocation educational programme in Kent. In September 2008, Paul was elected chairman of the South East England Regional Assembly, and following the dissolution of the Assembly he was elected the first chairman of South East England Councils.

Outside local government, Paul still runs a number of land-related businesses in property, construction, and retail in London. Paul was also a founding partner of Gander PLC, the first property company on AIM (Alternative Investment Market).

Gordon Keymer has been Tandridge DC Conservative Group Leader since 1991 and council leader since 2000; he was awarded the CBE in 2002.  At SEEC he serves as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Europe Task & Finish Group. He also leads the UK Delegations to the EU Committee of the Regions and to the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. 

Paul has been in district and county politics for over 20 years and is currently leader of Dover District Council. During this time he has been a Kent County councillor and former chairman and treasurer of the Dover and Deal Conservative Association. He was the parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party in the 2005 election and had previously fought two general elections. Paul is also chairman of the South East Strategic Partnership for Migration and secretary to the South East England Councils. Paul is a former registered nurse and selfemployed businessman with retail property interests.

Among other activities he has held a range of governorships within the primary, secondary and further education sector and was formally a member of the Court of the University of Kent.

Keith House has been Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council since 1994. He served from 2002-8 as a Board Member of the South East England Development Agency, and again from 2009. Outside local government, he has worked with emerging democracies in Eastern Europe and central Asia.

Tony Page has served on Reading Council as a Labour councillor since 1973 without a break. He is now Deputy Leader of the Council. Tony has represented Reading on the Local Government Association since its inception in 1997 and is currently a member of its Environment Board. He sits on the Ministerial Bus Forum and in addition, he chaired the LGA Task Force which produced their policy on school transport.

Mary has been a borough councillor since 1983, representing the Winkfield and Cranbourne ward. She is cabinet member for planning, transport and economic development. Mary is also a school governor and lay mental health act manager at Broadmoor Hospital. Prior to local government Mary worked for Nestles, Rank Organisation, HFC Bank and the Conservative Party. Mary has a BSc (Hons) Modern History and Politics and MSc Government (2005).

Andrew is Leader of Swale BC and is also a member of Kent CC. He has specialised in issues of environment, housing and the delivery of leisure services. He is currently involved in issues around strategic planning, service delivery and equity with reference to rural areas.

Ken Crookes was elected as Leader of Hart DC after serving as chairman of the council’s scrutiny committee. He is an Ex-Officio Trustee with Hart Voluntary Action and a trustee with the Hart Neighbourhood Centre.

Myles is Deputy Leader of Chichester District Council. He became involved in community affairs in 1990 and was a founder member of the Hambrook and District Residents' Association. For several years he was also Solent representative for a Forum caring for small businesses. He is dedicated to getting resolution to concerns, encouraging community participation and developing the quality of amenities and the environment.

Andrew Geary was elected as Leader of Milton Keynes Council in May 2011. He is a member of the Local Strategic Partnership, the LGA Rural Commission and the Regional Flood Defence Committee among others.

Moira is leader of Surrey Heath Borough Council. First elected as councillor for Windlesham in 1991, she became leader of Surrey Heath in 1998. Moira studied law at Newcastle University and after graduating was called to the Bar as a member of Lincoln's Inn. She has been a governor at Windlesham Village School, involved with the community care home and has also been a parish councillor.
She was Chairman of the Planning Panel that advised the South East England Strategy Board until it was disbanded in May 2010. She is now SEEC Spokesman on Planning, Housing and Sustainability issues.

Lynne Hack is a district councillor at Reigate & Banstead. She is also a member of Surrey CC, where she serves as Cabinet Member for the Environment, with the responsibility to preserve and enhance the natural and built environment. She also holds a professional career as a Research Scientist, developing new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Lorraine Lindsay-Gale was elected to office in June 2009 and is a Cabinet Member for Growth and Infrastructure. Her particular interests include protection of the environment and conservation of our heritage.

Barry Norton is the Leader of West Oxfordshire DC. His cabinet responsibilities include policy framework, public relations and emergency planning among other issues. He also represents the council on national and regional bodies, such as the Local Government Association and South East England Councils.

Andrew Povey is the Leader and Chairman of Surrey CC. He has also been involved with the Local Government Association, serving on the then Education Committee and Social Inclusion Committee; becoming particularly involved in the promotion of the extended schools concept. Politically, he acted as External Advisor to Theresa May and Damian Green when they were acting as Shadow Secretaries of State for Education.

David is Deputy Leader of Oxfordshire County Council. He chaired the South East's Regional Transport Board until it was disbanded in June 2010. He is now SEEC's convenor on transport issues.

James is deputy leader of Slough Borough Council. He is Commissioner for Neighbourhoods and Renewal and is currently Chair of Slough Council’s main Overview and Scrutiny Committee. He is also a Board Member of Blue Sky Enterprises, which helps to train, support rehabilitation and provide employment for ex-offenders in the South East region.

Martin Tett is the Leader of Buckinghamshire CC. His responsibilities include overall policy direction and strategy, communications policy and leading on HS2 among other things. His involvement with opposition to HS2 is prominent as MPs are deciding if they will support it in principle.

Ken Thornber is the Leader of Hampshire County Council and Executive Member for Policy and Resources. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the County Councils Network of England. In Hampshire he is Chairman of the Governance Committee, the Employment Committee and the Pension Fund Panel among others.

David is Leader of Eastbourne BC and leader of the Lib-Dem group on East Sussex CC.  He was first elected councillor for Priory in 1981; he is in his eighth term as a county councillor and fifth term as a borough councillor. He is supportive of special educational needs and is a governor of Hazel Court School, a school for children with learning difficulties.

Gerald Vernon-Jackson has been a councillor in Portsmouth since 2003 and has been Leader of the Council since 2004. He has overall responsibility for the co-ordination and presentation of council policy and is the main spokesperson for the city council.
