APPG South East has launched its second inquiry: “The South East and ‘Global Britain’: what role for transport infrastructure in underpinning Britain’s plan to trade and grow?”
Written submissions are invited by 4pm on Friday 24th February 2023.

More lottery than levelling?
Following the Levelling Up Round 2 awards, South East councils @SECouncils (who claim that most local authorities are members) talk of the "broken funding model for English Local Government..." https://twitter.com/SECouncils/status/1616122905930395648
I see from media stories that the Government is being criticised that the South East is getting an unfair proportion of the levelling up fund monies. This is not the case; there are parts of the South East which suffer severe deprivation, including Hastings. 1/2
South East Councils has welcomed the much-needed funding to level up left behind areas in the South East. However, Government must address the elephant in the room by taking steps to fix the broken funding model for English Local Government.
