South East Council’s Chair Cllr Nicolas Heslop and Deputy Chair Cllr Paul Bettison OBE have written to congratulate the new Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities The Rt Hon Simon Clarke MP on his appointment.
The letter brought to his attention that: “A new funding model is needed to help harness additional local powers and new funding mechanisms together to empower locally elected representatives to deliver for the communities they serve.”
South East Councils wishes the new Secretary of State the best in the weeks and months ahead and looks forward to engaging in a constructive dialogue with his department to help make the South East an even better place to live, work and do business.
